Looking for better performance, higher end components, bragging rights? Our MetaPhysic build options might just be for you.
Drivetrain Option
Switch out the SRAM X9 for a SRAM XX rear derailleur, SRAM Red front derailleur, SRAM Red 170mm carbon crank (in either 50/34T or 52/39T), and a SRAM XG-1099 10 speed cassette (11-36T). With 700C wheels, you'll get a gear inch range of 25-123 or 29-130 depending on crank selection.
The Drivetrain Option also allows you to upgrade to SRAM 500 TT bar end shifters, with or without Paul's Thumbies mounts.
The Drivetrain Option saves you 320 grams of weight and is $899. Upgrade to this option and we'll include the price of the SRAM 500 TT shifters. Adding the Paul's Thumbies mounts will add $69.
Idler Option
Improve your drivetrain's efficiency by upgrading to a TerraCycle Elite Idler with chainkeeper. This option adds $140. Or upgrade to a TerraCycle Sport Idler for $75.
Brake Option
Want to brake in style? Go for our X-eyed CNC sidepull caliper brakes upgrade for better stopping power. We'll also mount Avid SL brake levers. This option adds $169 and drops 85 grams.
Fork Option
If you want to use disc brakes on your MetaPhysic, you'll need to switch to either our aluminum unicrown (2lbs) or carbon (1lb 15oz) fork with disc tab. There is no added cost for the aluminum. Carbon adds $60.
Wheel Options
Where the rubber meets the road!
Option 1 - Switch to 650C (ISO 571) wheels to bring the height down a bit. This option includes Velocity Nuvian wheels with Aerohead rims with a 3-cross rear spoke pattern and radial pattern in the front. Along with the wheels come Schwalbe Ultremo ZX 650x23C tires. This option adds $74.
Option 2 - Go for 26" (ISO 559) wheels with Velocity Aerohead 32H wheels with 3-cross spoke patterns both front and rear. This option is fitted with Schwalbe Kojak 26x1.35 tires, includes the Aluminum Unicrown fork and Avid BB7 disc brakes - for no added cost!
Option 3 - Change up to a 700C American Classic Sprint 350 wheelset for the ultimate in performance. This option adds $599.
Tire Option
If you like, you can select to mount Schwalbe Ultremo ZX 700x23C tires. This option is not available with wheel options 1 and 2. Added cost is $74.
Seat Option
Want to shave 550g from the stock configuration? Select the carbon fiber seat (200lb weight limit), available in three sizes. This option adds $149.
Handlebar Options
Get a grip! Funny, right? No? Oh.
Option 1 - Exchange aluminum for carbon fiber by upgrading to the MetaBikes carbon fiber handlebar, also in the preying mantis style. This option adds $176.
Option 2 - Mantis not your thing? Swap it out altogether for a MetaBikes open cockpit style handlebar with telescoping riser. This option adds no cost.
Accessories
One does not live on MetaBike alone. You need stuff to go with it, like a headrest, kickstand, or a Herbie 120 II rack. Each is an additional cost.
Also, if ordering a framekit, you may want to order a pad for the seat. Choose from Ventisit and MetaMousse closed cell foam seat pads.
Start from scratch
Don't like any of the options above? Start with a MetaBikes frame kit and either add your own components or have us do a custom build for you. Frame kits come with the frame, carbon fork, headset, fiberglass seat (w/o pad), seatstays, aluminum MetaBar, riser, and idler. You can upgrade the idler, handlebar, fork, and seat with our options above at the time you buy the frame kit to take advantage of our bundled prices.
The frame kit costs $1699.
Custom Builds
We're always up for helping you achieve your unique vision for the ultimate MetaBike, but please keep in mind that the cost for our options applies only with the initial purchase of a complete bike. Additional options and your fully customized build may be subject to longer delivery times and special pricing.
